I truly wish I had time to write today, for quite the discovery has been made. Archeologist Yossi Garfinkel of Hebrew University in Jerusalem has discovered a proto-Canaanite inscription on a piece of pottery (ostracon) at the site of Khirbet Qeifaya. Claims have already been made that it could be the earliest “Hebrew” inscriptions that have been discovered to date, dating to the time of David.
